Who Are We?
The Young British Heritage Society is a non-partisan conservative youth organisation run for students, by students. As a student-run organisation, we are dedicated to educating the next generation of young activists and future leaders. Our goal is to encourage young people to freely express their views and opinions without any regard for political correctness.
We seek to promote the objectives and values of classical liberalism, traditional conservatism and in particular the primacy of individual civil liberties and economic freedom. These values define the history of our nation. In 1215, Magna Carta laid the foundations for the freedom of the individual and established the rule of law, we believe these principles must be upheld.
As strong proponents of freedom of speech, we relish open debate and discussion. By developing a nationwide network of students that share a common appreciation of the traditional values and heritage of Great Britain, we endeavor to create an open platform for young people and equip them with the means to engage in the matters that will determine their future.

Our Mission
The Young British Heritage Society strive to preserve our traditional values whilst being a dynamic and forward looking organisation.
We seek to promote individual freedom and to guarantee fundamental civil liberties of all people irrespective of race, religion, ethnicity or sexuality. YBHS relentlessly endeavours to be wholly inclusive as we believe strongly that all are created equal and that our natural rights are the underlying characteristic all of us have in common.
“YBHS seeks to create an open debate platform for young people to freely express their views and opinions without any regard for political correctness”
Among these rights is the right to free speech. YBHS strongly advocates for unfettered free speech and warns of the dangers of political correctness. We often find that discussion and debate are restricted on university campuses due to fears of being labelled ‘offensive’. Indeed, there is a particular stigma attached to conservative and libertarian views which as a result are being stifled at universities. The looming spectre of PC culture often distracts from the argument of ideas and impedes free thought and the development of new concepts. Therefore, YBHS seeks to create an open debate platform for young people to freely express their views and opinions without any regard for political correctness.
For too long, we have witnessed the systematic censorship of conservative and libertarian views at British universities. The institutions that were once hotbeds for rigorous academic debate are now silencing minority opinions and are quickly developing an institutionalised bias against conservative and free market principles. It is our aim to fight this with the help of our driven and dedicated network of student activists who face a daily struggle to ensure that their voices are heard and respected by faculty and their peers.
When King John affixed his seal to the Magna Carta in 1215, the foundations were laid for individual freedom over the absolute power of the despot. With the establishment of the rule of law, it was declared that all men are equal and none shall be subject to the arbitrary decisions of individual officials. We must continue to respect the rights enshrined in the Magna Carta and preserve the values, institutions and heritage revered by our forebears as we pave our futures.
“We must continue to… preserve the values, institutions and heritage revered by our forebears as we pave our futures”
